Suzi Quatro, born in 1950 to accomplished Jazz musician Art Quatro started her musical career at an early age. At the age of eight Suzi was playing in her father's band the Art Quatro Trio and six years later started performing with her sister under the name of The Pleasure Seekers.

After much success with The Pleasure Seekers, Suzi signed with legendary record producer Mickie Most (who produced The Animals, Hermans Hermits and Donovan amongst others) and his RAK Records label and embarked on her solo career as Suzi Quatro in the UK.

Mickie Most introduced Suzi to the songwriting and production team Nicky Chinn / Mike Chapman and in 1973 Suzi's number 1 hit single "Can The Can" became the international breakthrough which really began her solo career. It was followed up by three further hits: "48 Crash", "Daytona Demon" and "Devil Gate Drive".

Decades of performing have taken Suzi all over the World; she has achieved record sales of over 50 million and has become one of the female musical icons of the 20th Century. In addition to touring, Quatro has hosted weekly Rock and Roll programmes on BBC Radio 2. Her current programme is called "Wake Up Little Suzi".

"Suzi Quatro's Elvis", a two hour special is being broadcast on Radio 2 on January 7th at 10:00pm.
